Last updated: 5 November 2026. These terms apply to the website, the MCP server and the HTTP API of Backtest Atlas (together: the service). The service is operated by Justin Jaeger (we, us). By using the service you accept these terms.
1. Research statistics, not advice
Everything in the service describes how classes of trading ideas performed in historical, simulated tests. It is general research information. It is not investment, financial, tax or legal advice, not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and not a promise about future results.
- Simulated results have limits: they are calculated after the fact, do not involve real money and cannot fully account for real costs, liquidity or the risk of actual trading.
- We do not know your situation, and we are not a registered investment adviser or broker.
- When an AI agent uses our data to answer you, its answer is the agent's, not ours.
- You alone decide what you trade, and you carry the risk. Trading can lose more than you put in.
2. Plans and limits
- Free: 20 checks a day per personal URL, without sign-up.
- Pro: 1,000 checks a day.
- Scale: 10,000 checks a day and up to five URLs for your agents and bots.
Limits reset daily at 00:00 UTC. To protect the service we also limit calls per network address. We may change the free plan at any time. Paid plans keep the features you bought until the end of the period you paid for.
3. Payment, renewal and cancellation
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay. Taxes are added where the law requires it.
- Plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time with the link in your Stripe receipt or by email. The plan then runs to the end of the paid period and does not renew.
- The founding offer costs $99 for the first year and then renews at the normal yearly Pro price unless you cancel.
- We announce price changes by email at least 30 days in advance. They apply from your next renewal, and you can cancel before then.
- We do not refund unused parts of a period, except under section 4 or where the law requires it.
4. Right of withdrawal for consumers
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you can withdraw from a paid plan within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason, by sending us an email. Because your URL is upgraded immediately, you ask us to start the service before the 14 days end. If you withdraw, we refund the price minus the share for the days already used.
5. Your personal URL and keys
Your personal MCP URL works like a password. Keep it to yourself and your team. You are responsible for what happens with it, including calls made by your agents. If it leaks, tell us and we will replace it.
6. Fair use
You may not:
- copy the register or the backtest library in bulk, or rebuild it by systematically querying the API;
- resell API output or offer it as a data product without a team licence;
- get around the limits, for example with many free URLs;
- overload, attack or probe the service, or use it for anything unlawful.
7. Using our statistics
You may read, quote and cite published statistics in your own work and publications, with a link to the page and its as-of date. The public summary in findings.json may be reused with attribution to Backtest Atlas. The register, the library, the texts and the design remain ours. Commercial redistribution needs a team licence.
8. What you send us
The ideas and numbers you or your agent send are processed to answer the request and are logged as described in the privacy policy. Do not send confidential information or personal data about others. If you switch on anonymous sharing in check_backtest, you allow us to use the numbers you send, without your identity, in aggregated statistics, permanently and free of charge.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but cannot guarantee it without interruption. We may update the data, change tools or retire features. If we close a paid plan before its end, we refund the unused part.
10. No warranty
The statistics are produced with care and show their sample sizes and caveats. They can still contain errors, and the underlying data can be incomplete. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.
11. Liability
We are not liable for trading or investment losses or for decisions you or your agents make based on the service. Otherwise, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply to intent, gross negligence, injury to life or health, or where mandatory law, including consumer law, does not allow them.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close access that breaks these terms, after a warning where reasonable. You can stop using the service at any time.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Paying customers are informed of important changes by email at least 30 days in advance and can cancel before they take effect.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.
